Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Teach North Texas Program at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a full time, 9-month lecturer position to serve as a Master Teacher. The position begins in Fall 2017. Annual reappointment is possible based on satisfactory performance.
Teach North Texas is an undergraduate secondary science, mathematics and computer science teacher education program at UNT as one of 44 national UTeach replication sites. Experienced secondary teachers collaborate with UNT faculty to train pre-service secondary teachers in the implementation of innovative best practices.
Duties of the Master Teacher include: teaching courses in the professional development sequence for pre-service teachers in science, mathematics or computer science; supervision and coordination of clinical field experiences; orientation and collaboration activities with district partners; and other duties as required.
This appointment is a non-tenurable, one year appointment that may be renewed annually for up to 3 years at the sole discretion of the University.

Applicants must have a minimum of a master's degree at the time of appointment and at least three years of secondary public school teaching experience. Required qualifications include an undergraduate science, mathematics or computer science degree or a minimum of 18 graduate content hours in a science, mathematics or computer science discipline.
Applicants must have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and experience working with pre-service and/or in-service teachers.
Desired qualifications include supervision of student teaching, experience as an instructional coach, and/or college teaching experience. Candidates with mathematics and/or computer science backgrounds are preferred, however candidates with science background will be considered.
