Job Description
The College of Nursing, University of South Carolina, is seeking a qualified candidate eligible for the rank of Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor to fill a full-time, 11-month non-tenure track, faculty position. In addition to teaching, clinical practice and research/scholarship activities are expected. Faculty appointment and salary are commensurate with the level of advanced practice clinical practice, teaching, leadership, and scholarship experience of the candidate.

The faculty member would provide didactic and clinical instruction for undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

We are looking for a candidate who has knowledge and/or experience of undergraduate curricula and DNP and Masters Advanced Practice Nursing curricula that align with CCNE and NONPF criteria for Advanced Practice; the application of innovative online and in person class delivery and simulation methodologies; scholarship application; and health policy action/implementation.

Must have a serious commitment to the professional development of undergraduate and graduate nursing students, clinical practice, and leadership.


Minimum Qualifications
Earned doctorate in nursing (PhD or DNP); specialty in Palliative Care; two years of teaching and mentoring of students; unencumbered licensure as an APRN; National Certification and two years of direct practice as an APRN, training in End of Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC). Excellent communication skills, team building, self-motivation, and initiative are expected. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Palliative Care Certification preferred.
