Position: Assistant or Associate Professor, Centurion Sales Program (non-tenure track)

Stetson University’s School of Business Administration seeks applicants and nominations for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty appointment in the Centurion Sales Program at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates should have a demonstrable ability to teach courses in Professional Selling, Sales Management, and Marketing. The individual will be located at Stetson’s DeLand, Florida campus.

Qualifications:

The University seeks candidates who meet one of the following profiles. All candidates must have evidence of experience in and engagement with professional sales in any industry. Evidence of professional involvement sufficient to be qualified as Scholarly Academic or Scholarly Professional with minimal publications in the near future under the AACSB guidelines is preferred.

Profile 1: Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Sales and Marketing

Candidates will have earned a doctoral degree in Marketing (with Sales focus) by August 2017. Experienced candidates are expected to have demonstrated excellent teaching performance and a suitable publication record. Entry-level candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for effective teaching and scholarly activity that leads to publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Profile 2: Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice in Sales and Marketing

Candidates should have earned at least a Master degree (doctorate preferred) related to Marketing or Sales with significant professional sales experience. This candidate must possess a proven track record of sales at a leadership level and demonstrate potential for effective and engaging teaching activity. Contracts are multi-year and renewable.

Responsibilities:  

The teaching load is four (4) courses per semester at the undergraduate level in the areas of introductory Sales or Marketing and Sales Management. Average class size is 20 students. Additional responsibilities include: supervision of interns; undergraduate advising; student recruitment; university, college, and departmental committee service; and building industry partnerships under the aegis of the Centurion Sales Program. Potential exists for teaching a graduate-level course or other Marketing course. Engagement in multidisciplinary collaborations with other faculty is anticipated.

Housed in the Department of Marketing (www.stetson.edu/marketing), the Centurion Sales Program offers a cutting-edge curriculum.  The program, new in Fall 2017, offers a major and minor in Professional Sales where students are immersed in rigorous academic content, demonstrate the practical application of knowledge in specialized sales training labs, and become truly engaged through partnerships with local businesses.

The School of Business Administration:
