Postdoctoral Researcher in Medical Robotics

 

Hofstra University‚Äôs Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Department of Urology at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, is looking to hire for an anticipated postdoctoral researcher position.  The ideal applicant will have experience in robotics and system design. The position will involve research, development of algorithms, rapid prototyping, and computer programming. The candidate is expected to focus on developing an autonomous medical device for wound closure applications.

 

Applicants should have earned a PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering, or equivalent specialty. Extensive C/C++ programming skills, strong problem-solving skills, hands-on experience with state-of-the-art algorithms on robotic systems, and experience with rapid prototyping in MATLAB or Python and deploying algorithms for real-time operation on a robot for a real world environment, are all desirable attributes.
