ACADEMIC (9 months)
Degree and Area of Specialization:
Master's degree in speech-language pathology or Ph.D.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
A minimum of three years' experience working in speech language pathology and relevant experience in student supervision is required. Interest and experience with school-aged children in the areas of phonology, language and literacy is preferred, although not required.
License or certificate:
Candidates must be ASHA certified and state licensed (or eligible) in speech language pathology.
CCC-SLP is required.
This position is for a clinical faculty member in speech-language pathology and includes supervisory and teaching responsibilities within the master's program. The UW Speech and Hearing Clinic is in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The department has an undergraduate program, master's program in speech language pathology, Au.D. program and a Ph.D. program.
The UW Speech and Hearing Clinic (UWSHC) is a teaching clinic where graduate students provide service under the guidance and supervision of state-licensed and nationally certified speech-language pathologists and audiologists. The UWSHC offers evaluation, treatment, and consultation services for children and adults with speech, language, hearing, and related communication needs.
This position provides student training and client care through the UW Speech and Hearing Clinic as a speech-language pathologist.
A criminal background check will be conducted prior to hiring.
A period of evaluation will be required.
