Degree and Area of Specialization:
Master's degree required. Study in psychology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer sciences, exercise science, kinesiology, the life sciences, or other related fields preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Experience with analyses of brain images and behavioral data, including use of applicable software such as Matlab, SPM, FSL, AFNI, FreeSurfer, SAS, SPSS, & R is preferred. Prior experience of being part of an academic clinical research group is a plus.
Title prefix level will be determined based on candidate's years of relevant professional experience.
The successful candidate will join the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center Neuroimaging Group (www.brainmap.wisc.edu), a multidisciplinary collective of more than 20 principal investigators with over 41 human and nonhuman primate research projects spanning the diagnostic spectrum from normal aging to Alzheimer's dementia. (S)he will be actively engaged in cutting-edge neuroimaging and biomarker research studies of lifestyle and genetic factors related to cognitive resilience in normal aging and preclinical Alzheimer's disease. This position requires analytic thinking, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and study participants. Primary areas of responsibility include data processing, data analyses, and preparation of scientific writing such as abstracts, posters, papers, and grants.
The applicant should have the flexibility to work both independently and collaboratively, and should understand key elements of research studies including hypotheses generation, study design & objectives, statistical analyses, and presentation of results.
