Position Rank: Full-time, nine month, non tenure accruing visiting faculty position

Date of Expected Hire: August 16, 2017

Salary: $42,000 nine month salary

Responsibilities: To teach a 2-3 load of courses and to participate in the art history program. Each semester, one of the courses is expected be ARH 2051, Introduction to Principles and History of Art II, a survey of European and American art from the Renaissance to the present. The candidate is expected also to offer advanced courses in his or her field of specialty.

SCHOOL OF ART + ART HISTORY: Organized within the College of the Arts, the School of Art + Art History plays an important role in the academic life of the university and in the community. The school has 34 full-time faculty, 320 undergraduate students, and more than 120 graduate students. Degree programs include the B.A., B.F.A., M.A., M.F.A., and Ph.D. Areas of study include visual art studies, art history, art education, museum studies, graphic design, and studio art (art + technology, ceramics, creative photography, drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture). Also a part of the School of Art + Art History is the University Galleries—University Gallery, the Gary R. Libby Gallery, and Grinter Gallery — which provide exhibition space for professional and student artwork. The University Galleries play an integral role in the teaching mission of the School of Art + Art History, the College of the Arts, as well as serving the entire UF and Gainesville community. The School of Art + Art History is also home to WARP, (the Workshop for Art Research and Practice), the 4Most Gallery, and work and design facilities at Infinity Hall.  The University of Florida is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Advertised Salary:

$42,000 nine month salary

Minimum Requirements:

Candidate must have completed the Ph.D. in Art History or a related field or be ABD, by the start date, have an established record of research, and be a committed educator.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience beyond graduate school.
