The Research Foundation for SUNY and The Office of Business and Community Relations (OBCR) at the State University of New York at Oswego seeks a full-time Administrative Assistant I. While this position is located on the campus of SUNY Oswego, this is a Research Foundation position, not a New York State position.

Job Description:

Provide daily front desk coverage and support for all Business Resource Center (BRC) programs.  Provide support for Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program including scheduling client appointments, development and processing of Micro applications, scholarships, deposits and requisitions.  Provide support for the Workforce Development Board by preparing calendar/schedule/notifications for executive, full board and committee meetings.  Prepare for Workforce Development Meetings – manage logistics, copies of agenda and other materials, attend, record and transcribe meeting minutes.  Answer telephone and respond to BRC e-mail. Refer calls to appropriate BCR/OBCR staff member.  Maintain BRC conference room calendar and follow up with any requests.  Sort and distribute the mail.  Attend work related trainings as requested by supervisor.  Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Duties also include:

  • Greet visitors. Answer telephone and respond to e-mail. Refer calls and emails to appropriate staff members.
  • Review outgoing correspondence for proper grammatical usage, clarity and factual correctness.
  • Design, set up and maintain files (including electronic) of correspondence/documents, code and file material, search for requested material and periodically purge obsolete material for storage in records center or for disposal.
  • Assist and support financial management systems (SMRT, Report Center, etc.) and attend trainings as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years related office experience
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
