The Office of Advancement on the downtown campus has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Development Assistant position.

This class describes the fourth administrative assistant level. Positions in this level have the authority to design and implement, without prior approval, the general office and administrative operations to accomplish the unit's work. Work includes, but is not limited to, deciding what operations will be performed and how processes will be implemented; creating and revising office procedures and writing office procedure manuals, designing forms; establishing general office record systems and resource libraries, including content of files and publications, coding and maintenance schemes, circulation and retrieval, production, access, and disposal; compiling and formatting the content for program materials, such as annual reports and newsletters; accounting for the unit's allotted funds by authorizing (signing) operating expenditures for such things as office supplies, calculating estimated office operating expenses for the annual budget request; and, designing the physical layout of the unit's work area.
The Development Assistant will perform administrative duties and tasks, reflecting substantial variety and complexity, in the Office of Advancement. Responsible for supporting the work and activities of the Vice Chancellor and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement as well as managing the coordination of all volunteer committees including meeting logistics and correspondence. This role also partners with other Advancement team members to provide administrative support for all Advancement events.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Three years of general clerical experience.
Substitution: College or university course work appropriate to the work assignment, may substitute on a year for year basis for the experience.
Conditions of Employment: Must be willing and able to periodically work after hours for events and/or other volunteer committee related functions.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Five (5) years of administrative experience.
- Professional experience working in non-profit, events and development/fundraising.
- Professional experience making travel arrangements.
- Professional experience scheduling meetings and appointments, and/or maintaining calendars.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, manage time and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Internet navigation tools with proven knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software, email, and internet access software.
