Faculty Position in the Department of Nursing
POSITION: 0.75 FTE Annual Contract faculty position in the Department of Nursing
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate degree in nursing; teaching experience in nursing preferred; Christian faith with strong affinity for the values espoused by EMU that draw from its Anabaptist/Mennonite heritage; evidence of practice in the field; and ability to contribute to university and departmental service.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate nursing courses and medical-surgical clinical instruction in the Department of Nursing. Most courses and clinical will fall during the traditional Fall and Spring semesters, but some responsibilities could include classroom teaching or clinical instruction during the summer Accelerated Second Degree nursing program (negotiable). Applicants must have a strong commitment to high quality teaching and be enthusiastic about mentoring and advising students. Engagement in ongoing scholar/nursing practice activity and departmental and university service is expected.
COMPENSATION: Nine‑month contract. Salary determined by education and experience. Eastern Mennonite University uses an annual contract review system for non-tenure-track positions.
APPOINTMENT DATE: Position begins mid-August 2017. EMU reserves the right to fill the position at any time or keep the position open.
