RESEARCH SPECIALIST A
Duties: We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic individual that is excited about doing a combination of bench work and clinical-translational research involving patients. This individual should be interested in a career in science or medicine and can commit for a minimum of 2 years. The research specialist will be working closely with the Principal Investigator and other lab members on publication-generating projects. The research specialist will have direct contacts with patients and will work with cutting-edge molecular techniques and immunology approaches to understand the autoimmune pathology in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. It is expected that the research specialist will develop a high level of independence, and be able to take a lead on projects. The research specialist will work in an environment that is team-oriented, where creativity, enthusiasm and dedicated effort are highly rewarded. This position also may involve work on weekends and University holidays.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 0 to1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 1to 2 years of experience preferred. Successful applicant should be interested in bioinformatics with the goal of doing independent analysis. Some computational background is a plus, but not necessary. Good verbal and written communication skills and understanding of scientific literature are required. Excellent organizational and record keeping skills are necessary.
