Job Summary The primary role of this position is to create marketing content that expresses the University of Georgia's brand and its priorities. The content will be used across print and digital platforms, including publications, social media, web, email newsletters and other communications materials. The writer must a laser-like focus on creating the best content for the user. In addition to communicating with stakeholders and researching relevant information before writing, this candidate will create content appropriate for the mood, tone and effective messaging for each platform and audience. The marketing writer will collaborate with UGA Marketing and Communications staff as well as stakeholders from other schools and colleges to ensure that the content is aligned with brand messaging principles. In addition to strong writing, the marketing writer should have good visual sense to integrate words with images and other design elements and also be able to understand how content plays a role in overall brand campaigns. This role requires an understanding and experience with integrated marketing campaign content, digital media, including social media as well as SEO tactics and content marketing best practices, video production, and visual storytelling. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in copywriting, journalism, or editorial work is preferred. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or related discipline and 4 years directly related experience.
