RESEARCH SPECIALIST A
Duties: Cardiovascular/CVI lab in the Perelman School of Medicine is seeking a Research Specialist A to assist with mouse colony maintenance and basic molecular biology experiments in the lab.
The primary role for this position is to maintain mouse breeding colonies and perform technical assistance on research The individual will be responsible for assuring compliance with animal protocols and regulations. Other duties include: Perform Molecular Biology techniques, assist post-docs and lab staff members in cell and molecular experiments, and assist in maintenance of cell culture supplies, facilities, equipment, and PI laboratory.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 0-1 year of directly related research experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 1-2 years of experience preferred. Must have strong organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills, and be able to work independently. The ideal candidate for this position will be proficient in large mouse colony maintenance and eager to learn advanced molecular biology techniques. The applicant should be comfortable working with live animals.
