Job Description:

Responsible for developing plans, building initiatives & executing projects that support broad short & long-term brand marketing strategy for our ethnic products a. Takes lead in collaboration with Senior Staff (internal & external) to develop brands relevant to target consumers that support overall brand promise. Activities will include product development, segmentation, branding, research, competitive analysis, planning, pricing, promotion, agency management (media/PR).

Job Duties and Requirements:
  • Energetic & self-motivated individual with inclination to act with integrity & urgency
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, written & verbal communication/presentation abilities
  • Expert project management skills, drive the process to bring multiple priorities to successful resolution
  • Must have current background in CPG product development in both Natural & Mainstream Channels
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in start-up/evolving brand development (BA/BS required, MBA preferred)
  • Combination of consumer insight understanding, aptitude for strategic thinking & creative problem solving
  • Strong ability to analyze multiple data sources (target consumer trends & insights) to draw meaningful conclusions
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel & use of Syndicated Data (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS, Spectra)

Requirements:
  • Brand steward that supports new brand promise, vision, position, architecture development to achieve growth goals
  • Engages, inspires & galvanizes organization around brand vision, position & strategies so they are clear in bringing them to life in their various areas of functional expertise
  • Participates in brand strategy discussions & setting the bulls-eye on the target consumers for the brand
  • Works collaboratively to execute pack designs consistent with determined brand communication hierarchy
  • Participates in cross-functional team to develop new products-follow the process, includes analyzing information to help set sales forecast & financials plus writing concept statements for consumer testing
  • Analyzes consumer trends/information to help ID product categories to enter as future sources of growth
  • Drives consumer understanding & insights that define prime consumer target needs, attitudes & values in order for these consumers to have stronger, more impactful experiences with our developing brands
  • Leads consumer & brand learning development, oversees study execution & develops research findings
  • Analyzes market, consumer & competitive information to set new & manage existing product cost pricing
  • Analyzes consumer, category, competition & channel/customers as part of ongoing situation assessment
  • Develops pricing & pack strategy, improves margin mix, helps build trade spend plans & distribution goals to build fair, measurable & actionable KPI's (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Conducts analysis & periodical review of the brand, competition, categories, customers & consumer trends to enhance brand's equity and overall marketplace growth performance
  • Analyzes & provides consumer, category & brand information to support channel marketing/sales in category management & channel/customer specific business building presentations
  • Helps review channel & customer-specific point-of-purchase trade plans (pre & post), provides feedback on planning effectiveness & consistency with overall marketing plans
  • Analyzes current performance trends, market conditions & other contributing factors to help recommend base & stretch revenue goals for upcoming brand year
  • Leads, collaborates with research & development, engineering to develop/execute innovation platform pathways, product innovation & possible renovation required
  • Provides assistance & top line direction for key customer business development sales presentations
  • Works with sales to ID possible programming that will generate incremental revenue, greater profitability
  • Works collaboratively with operations/sourcing to identify & develop productivity improvement initiatives
  • Develops brand growth targets, objectives & strategies that aligns with overall company mission
  • Leads global brand planning process by developing & executing annual brand target setting, innovation review & brand strategy review
  • Participates in & contributes to development of annual brand operating plan reviews

Preferred:
  • 5+ years' experience as a marketing manager
  • Master's degree
