Degree and Area of Specialization:

BS/BA in biological sciences or closely related field.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

A minimum of 1 year experience in non-formal/informal education in life sciences working with youth and adults is preferred. Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.



Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Biotechnology Center (UWBC) is a fee-for-service core facility providing research services to UW researchers. BioTrek is the center's science outreach program. The Outreach Specialist reports to the Outreach Program Manager and is responsible for teaching workshops to groups of all ages, managing the BioTrek space, and promoting the center's education program in communities across Wisconsin.



Additional Information:

The prefix and salary will be determined based on years of experience and academic preparation. Some weekend, holiday and after hours work will be required.
