Job Summary:
The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Enrollment Services is responsible for establishing and implementing a strategic, comprehensive plan that supports and enhances student enrollment, retention and the student experience with the administrative units of Academic Records & Registration, Financial Aid, Student Accounts and Student Services. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Associate VP is responsible for facilitating a mission-driven and service-oriented organizational culture; effective, efficient and flexible provision of services to students; ethical, consistent and user-friendly application of University enrollment and student administrative service policies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Establishes and implements a strategic plan that support the enrollment and retention initiatives of the Enrollment Management division
• Provides overall unit leadership for approximately 75 exempt and nonexempt staff in the following offices within the Enrollment Services:
o Academic Records - official transcripts maintenance and production, transfer credit evaluation, degree audit, graduation posting/diploma production, probation/suspension reports, document imaging and the Regis University Catalog (12 staff)
o Registration - course and section creation, registration, enrollment and degree verification, grading, international and VA student advising, commencement (10 staff)
o Financial Aid - awards approximately $140 million in grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study from federal, state and institutional sources; provides financial aid counseling and financial literacy information; audits policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Department of Education federal regulations (16 staff)
o Student Accounts - billing and collections of the student receivables, setting up payment plans, sponsored billing, processing student refunds, and processing Nursing, Perkins, and emergency loans (10 staff)
o Student Services - front-line “one-stop shop” telephone and walk-in services for financial aid, student accounts, and registration as well as managing general phone inquiries from students, staff and the general public. Staff are housed at each of the four campuses - main Northwest Denver campus, Thornton, Denver Technical Center, and Colorado Springs. (25 staff)
• Establishes and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the division’s goals and objectives; oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of unit staff.
• Works closely with admissions and the financial aid leveraging vendor to set, implement and evaluate the awarding of institutional grants and scholarships each year for new first-time and transfer students; tracks the annual tuition discount rate for new freshmen, traditional students and the university as a whole
• Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness and effects changes required for improvement
• Develops and manages annual departmental consumables budgets and institutional gift aid budget; monitors corporate tuition discounts for each college
• Fosters and maintain a culture that is driven by the University mission of “service to others,” focused on the satisfaction of student “customers” that continuously strives to enhance the quality and range of services
• Works collaboratively with Information Technology Services to enhance delivery and maintenance of systems critical to Enrollment Services and the student experience, including upgrading self-service systems to meet the technical and access expectations of today’s learners.
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting on policies and practices to ensure that the University is in annual compliance with federal and state regulations (federal and state aid, international and veteran student enrollment requirements, state authorizations, HLC, etc.); provides financial aid and student receivables information to Financial Affairs for the annual financial audit.
• Stays current on federal and state legislation as they relate to financial aid and enrollment-related issues
• In collaboration with the University Analytics and Reporting office provides statistical information as needed for institutional and governmental reports, surveys, publications and compliance
• Encourages and supports professional development of staff; seeks opportunities to promote within the organization
• Promotes opportunities for staff to increase their understanding of the Jesuit mission of the university and supports staff to use their Mission leave to participate in projects that support the needs of the university, community and beyond

Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Master’s degree required with at least seven years’ experience in middle or senior-level management or administrative positions in higher education.
Experience in enrollment systems and procedures, fiscal operations, and customer-functions; demonstrated commitment to provision of effective, efficient and user-friendly services; evident leadership, motivational, and supervisory skills; exemplary communication skills, written and verbal, narrative and quantitative; a track record of working collaboratively with administrators, faculty and students; experience with accelerated adult and online academic programs as well as traditional academic delivery systems strongly preferred.
Understanding of and appreciation for the Jesuit Catholic mission and character of the University; strong understanding of workplace technology; broad knowledge of enrollment issues and trends, especially as they relate to tuition-dependent private institution; understanding of financial aid, student accounts, registrar, and customer service functions in higher education.
Physical and Mental:
Some evening and weekend hours required; some local and out-of-state travel required; may require working at multiple campus sites; may require prolonged periods of sitting and standing; occasionally requires periods of bending, stooping and lifting up to 10 pound objects; essential to remember and recall a significant amount of information; essential to read, write, and speak fluent and correct English; essential to have a high level of reasoning ability to deal independently with the many daily decisions necessary; essential to be highly motivated, independent, astute and competent to take a proactive role in dealing with a variety of unpredictable situations.
