Supervisor, Evening and Night Operations
Summary of the Position
The position requires direct supervision & coordination of Facilities services across evening & night shifts. The supervisor responds directly to any campus emergencies; coordinating with the Facilities Manager on Call to resolve emergent issues.
Work hours: 2:30pm – 11:30pm weekdays; 6am – 4pm every 4th weekend; some minor holidays as required.
Plans, develops, prioritizes and manages efficient Facilities operational tasks including custodial cleaning and event support as well as building mechanical maintenance.
Develops, trains, supports, and provides technical assistance to assigned Building Service staff and Night Mechanics.
Interacts positively with the Bentley community for Facilities support.
Supports the contract vendor cleaning component of Building Services. Interacting directly with contract vendor supervisors and staff.
Directs the timely & effective completion of work assignments.
Ensures the accuracy of and inputs work assignment labor tracking.
Must be proficient in the Facilities work order control system (INFOR), timekeeping (Kronos), and Human Resources software (Workday).
Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience Requirements)
Some college preferred; 2 – 3 years of proven supervisory experience in custodial operations.
Ability to recruit, train, coach, communicate with, develop, and hold accountable a diverse group of service workers.
Ability to multi-task.
Experience with computer software (e.g MS Office).
Ability to interact effectively & professionally with students & families, staff, faculty, administrators & the public.
Ability to troubleshoot building or personnel issues and make good decisions in occasional stressful situations.
Availability to cover other day, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed on an occasional bases.
Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United State driver's license with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley's insurance carrier.\
Associate's or bachelor's degree.
Experience in Trades (electrical, plumbing, etc.)
Experience with CMMS (work order management), automated building systems, & payroll management software.
Experience supervising 10+ staff in a union environment.
Physical skills required of this position include alertness in dealing with clients, staff, and the university community. Energy level is important when initiating inspections and conducting follow up in buildings, walking, and climbing stairs are essential. At times required to access building roofs and/or confined spaces.
