The Department of Special Education seeks a full-time, nine month Teaching Assistant Professor. This is a non-tenure track position, renewable contingent upon performance reviews. The Department, ranked 10th among special education departments in the nation by U.S. News and World Report (2016), is committed to the production and dissemination of new knowledge in the field. Faculty and graduate students in the Department work in diverse educational and community settings, and prepare educational professionals at the undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and post-doctoral levels. Position responsibilities: The successful applicant will teach three courses (or the equivalent) each spring and fall semester. He or she will serve as an active member of the Department of Special Education. Duties will include participating in service and scholarly activities, commensurate with title.
Qualifications: Preferred candidates must hold a PhD degree in Special Education or a related field and have successful experience with college teaching. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach a wide range of special education content courses.
Salary and Starting Date: Salary will be commensurate with experience. The proposed starting date is August 16, 2017.
