General Summary: The Communication, Media & Journalism department seeking a part-time faculty member to teach Introduction to Studio Recording and Editing & Mixing Audio on the Gainesville campus during the Fall 2017 semester. The courses are designed to introduce students to working with talent, understanding signal flow, choosing microphones and other aspects of capturing audio performances in a studio environment as well as how to mix and master content in ProTools.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The part-time faculty member will be responsible for:
  • Teaching one section of Introduction to Studio Recording and one section of Editing & Mixing Audio
  • Communicating with departmental colleagues regarding choice of text, common assignments, and standardized rubrics and grading
  • Reporting grades in a timely manner
  • Following all guidelines in the Faculty Handbook for part-time instructors


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Applicants must have completed at least 18 hours of graduate-level coursework in audio production or related discipline, or possess the equivalent in professional experience.
