Job Summary:
This is a full time Instructor position to conduct clinical duties and research collaboration with the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine. The candidate's primary responsibility will be to conduct clinical research in the area of pulmonary sciences and critical care medicine. Additional research responsibilities include writing papers for publications and submitting grant applications to obtain extramural research funding. Clinical responsibilities include a 50% FTE in clinical practice and clinical program development. The specific service covered for this 50% commitment will be determined in consultation with the Associate Chief of Clinical affairs for Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine. The services that require in-patient coverage at this time include the medical intensive care unit (MICU) and the Pulmonary Ward/Progressive Care Unit. Other in-patient services for which you may be eligible may be added in the ensuing years, but these would be discussed with you in advance of your participation. One half day per week will dedicated to seeing patients in the thoracic malignancy clinic as part of the Comprehensive Lungs and Breathing (CLB) Program.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Candidate must have an M.D. degree
  • Successful completion of a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care
  • Be board certified in both specialties
