Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least five years of experience as HTL/HT histotechnologist and experience with non-automated immunohistochemistry preferred.
Prefix assignment determined by years of relevant post-graduate, professional work experience. A minimum of 7 years of post-graduate, professional work experience is required for appointment at the senior level.
License or certificate:
Certified histotechnologist (HTL); certified histotechnician (HT)
The Department of Surgery is seeking an experienced, certified histology histotechnologist to act as the primary laboratory technician in the Department of Surgery, Histology Core Facility. The Core facility supports basic and translational research in the areas of vascular, otolaryngology, and solid organ transplantation, with extension of services to the UW campus and local biotech companies.
Successful candidates will have strong verbal communication skills. This position collaborates and consults with a diverse group of researchers.
