Senior Accountant, Grants (#20343) SO 

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant, Grants Compliance is responsible for auditing and reconciliation functions for multiple grants, acting as both consultant, and budget and compliance officer. Ensures the accounting system is in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, with local, state and federal regulations, and with all granting agency policies and regulations. Position is directly and indirectly involved in the financial aspects of accounting, budget, payroll, and financial aid. 

Job Functions
1. Audits employee time and effort statements and prepares allocation of payroll reclassifications. 
2. Audits expenses charged to grant accounts working closely with grant/project Managers and HR to confirm accuracy of documentation. Performs accounting, financial reporting and general ledger processes for expense reclassifications as required. 
3. Audits grant expenditures to ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations 
4. Responsible for writing the Administrative Cost policy and ensuring revisions reflect new grants and/or changes in grantor rules and regulations. 
5. Prepares and audits the calculation of administrative and indirect costs (recoverable funds) and performs accounting, financial reporting and general ledger processes in order to recover funds from state agencies. 
6. Meets with Grant/Program Managers to review grant performance, compliance, budgets, expenditures and projections and proposes improvements to processes. 
7. Provides support to Grant/Program Managers to determine allowable costs for multiple programs each with specific, individual contractual rules. Ensures compliance with contract terms, State, Federal TWC rules and regulations. 
8. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Hiring Salary is $47,449
