Job Description
Position Title: Foreman
Main functions:

Works in the field running or assisting in the installation of low voltage wiring on small to large projects.
Reports to: PM
Main Responsibilities:
• Installs horizontal and backbone pathways using : wire hangers/j-hooks, ladder rack, basket tray, threaded rod, beam clamps and D-rings.
• Installs horizontal cable ( cat5e, cat6, cat6a, coax , security and AV wire) as well as copper and fiber backbone cable.
• Lines out all the techs and installers at the beginning of each day and makes sure they have met his goals at the end of the work day.
• Builds out communication closets, routes and dresses all the horizontal/ backbone cabling, terminates all the backbone/ horizontal cabling and grounds the data racks and ladder rack in the closet.
• Must be able to run Fluke DTX1800 tester and troubleshoot cabling problems.
• Must be able to understand and implement either the customer's or PM's labeling scheme.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
• Maintains the as-built and red-line drawings.
• Maintains a daily log of what tasks or activities got done.
• Secures a laydown area for material and job box( if needed ).
• Interfaces with other trades on daily basis to make sure the install goes smoothly and with as few of issues as possible.
• Address with PM any construction issues or concerns.
• Tells PM of material requests so PM can get materials to jobsite in a timely manner.
• Speaks with PM on daily basis to let PM know what is going on at the jobsite.
• Must know and be able to implement fire-stopping procedures for new and existing penetrations.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and have good communications skills.
• Must understand and follow company and jobsite safety rules/procedure.
• Meets with crew before the start of the day and talks about safety in regards to the tech's tasks that they will be doing that day. He then will make a written document detailing what was discussed.
• He checks on the "safety" condition of the power tools and electrical cords that are on the job site. If they aren't safe, he gets them fixed or taken off -site and sent back to the office to be repaired.

Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Colorado's driver's license.
• Must pass a background check and a drug test.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
