Colorado Mountain College is seeking a team player with a passion for providing pathways and assistance to students to help them achieve their goals. The Academic Advisor II works as a member of the campus team, responding to evolving demographic, technological and community needs, and providing leadership and support in the development of new and enhanced student success programs. 

The Academic Advisor II, utilizing exceptional interpersonal skills, provides one-on-one student advising, as well as coordination of various tasks in support of student services. Provides administrative counseling and guidance in interpreting the College’s academic policies and guidelines, on-and off-campus advising, retention and recruitment activities as well as assistance with tracking and reporting activities. Assists students with problem-solving and goal identification, academic, transfer and career advising; registration and financial aid assistance; and general guidance. Analyzes situations and determines required actions. Communicates professionally and confidentially with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and community partners; keeps detailed and accurate records. Assists with promoting the vision and mission of Colorado Mountain College. This position may supervise staff and serve as a lead to other team members. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of the position, such as a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and three years of experience with a diverse student and adult population; or an applicable combination of formal education and experience that provides the training and experience necessary to perform the duties and the responsibilities of the position. High School and Post-Secondary experience essential. Master’s Degree preferred. Please see job description for additional detail.
