Software Developer- STARS
The Sensors Test Analysis Requirements Simulation (STARS) team is seeking an experienced software developer who will enhance our support of the Missile Defense Agency's sensor systems. This position requires a detailed-oriented individual experienced with all phases of the software development lifecycle, including software specification and requirements, software design, software coding, and software testing. The ideal candidate will be the responsible individual for the design, implementation, and verification of software systems, subsystems, components, and tools possessing significant functionality. The candidate will also analyze the software implementation of existing sensor and simulation systems to identify, prototype, and recommend performance and quality improvements. The position will include collaboration within a team environment while emphasizing individual contributions to produce products that are valuable to the customer. Candidate must have good people skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers.
Significant (5+ years) experience with the software development "ecosystem" associated with one or more of the Ada, C/C++, and Java programming languages; proficiency with Unix and Linux operating systems. Must be able to interact effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds including government and external industry personnel. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- First-hand development experience with one or more sensor systems.
- Experience in Air and Missile Defense Programs and be knowledgeable about military programs such as THAAD, PATRIOT, IBCS, MEADS, UEWR, SBX.
- Experience with model-view-controller (MVC) and Graphic User Interface frameworks and toolkits.
- Familiarity with XML and related technologies, i.e. XSD schemas, XSLT stylesheets, and XPath/XQuery.
- Experience applying Agile Development
Education Requirement: Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.
Security Clearance: A Secret Clearance is required
