Job description

Duties: We seek a Research Specialist A to join our immunology research group. Will assist senior-level researchers in supervised research projects in the lab as related to the immunology of human vaccine responses. Conceive, coordinate and carry out experiments related to the study of human immunology with respect to T cell responses to vaccines. These responsibilities may include tissue culture work, fluorescence cytometry, PCR, and similar molecular methods. This work will also involve data analysis and preparation, as well as development of understanding of the literature and conveying new findings in written form.

Opportunities also exist for participating in development of novel methods. With supervision, will summarize and interpret results using descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related field and 0 to 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must have strong work ethic, good attitude, communication and organizational skills, and willingness to learn new methods and techniques as the project evolves. Preference given for prior relevant experience or education in immunological research methods. Previous experience in standard methods including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, aseptic tissue culture, and flow cytometry is preferred but can be acquired as needed.
