The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, the Pediatric Mental Health Institute (PMHI) of Children's Hospital Colorado, and the Colorado Fetal Care Center (CFCC) invite applications for the position of Director of Behavioral Health Programs in the Colorado Fetal Care Center. The Colorado Fetal Care Center (CFCC) offers advanced diagnostics, evaluation, and specialized treatments spanning the full range of fetal anomalies. Our extensive team of experts provides comprehensive quaternary care and our goal is for every family to have a vast understanding of all possible treatments and outcomes, in a compassionate health care environment. The PMHI is a rapidly expanding clinical, research and teaching section in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Based at the Anschutz Medical and Research Campus, there are ample opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary professional education, research programs and clinical services.
Job Responsibilities: This position includes direct clinical care, teaching, supervision, and program development duties, with a focus on the assessment and treatment of mothers and families undergoing a high risk pregnancy. The appropriate candidate will have experience and expertise working with adults, specifically with mothers and families in the antepartum and postpartum periods, through the neonatal intensive care period. The Director will be responsible for working with the social work and medical teams within the CFCC to establish support groups, provide screenings and consultations and work to connect families with appropriate resources in their communities. The CFCC is a multi-disciplinary setting and the Director will work closely with the Medical Directors of Fetal Surgery, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and the Medical Director of Neonatology. This is a faculty position with rank commensurate with the applicant's experience.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited program with an APA or APPIC approved internship. Applicants must have experience working with adults, infants, and families. Experience working with children, and adolescents is beneficial. Applicants must possess a Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado. Must obtain Medical staff privileges at Children's Hospital Colorado.
Demonstrated experience and interest in working with adults and infants using evidence based treatment models including but not limited to proficiency with motivational strategies, interpersonal therapies and flexible application of CBT and DBT skills. Experience working with individuals with medical-psychiatric co-morbidities is also preferred. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team model and with colleagues, medical specialists and trainees. Experience and skill in consulting with professional colleagues and staff.
