Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree in biology or other closely related biological science is required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least 2 years of research lab experience is required.
At least 4 years of research lab experience including a strong background in cellular and protein functional assays preferred. Significant experience working with cultured cell lines, and skills in molecular biology and biochemistry are highly desirable.
This position will provide technical support for the projects in the Principal Investigator's lab and will predominantly be involved with the design of cellular and protein functional assays.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
-Ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively required.
-Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint are preferred.
-Ability to work effectively and energetically at a semi-independent level highly preferred.
-Experience in molecular cloning, expression construct design, bacterial and mammalian expression of RNA/protein, site-directed mutagenesis, immunofluorescence microscopy, Western blotting, luciferase assay, real-time PCR, and co-immunoprecipitation highly desired.
Position may also supervise a student hourly position.
Title prefix and salary will be dependent upon relevant years of experience.
