Degree and Area of Specialization:
PhD is required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least 4 years of relevant work experience in cellular therapy product manufacturing and process development, including experience in the performance or supervision of cell processing procedures required. 7 or more years of experience, including industrial, strongly preferred.
Experience working in a GMP-compliant cellular therapy processing laboratory with knowledge of relevant federal regulations and standards, quality control, quality assurance, and quality improvement.
Special skills, knowledge, and abilities preferred:
1. Knowledge of FACT and FDA cell manufacturing guidelines.
2. Ability to problem-solve independently and make decisions.
3. Ability to develop and manage budget.
4. Knowledge of laboratory operations and equipment.
5. Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects, including writing of reports and contribution to proposal/grant applications.
The Director is responsible for all administrative operations, quality assurance, and the development and implementation of all experimental advanced cell-processing procedures in the UW Health Cellular Therapy and Advanced Cellular Therapy Processing Laboratories, including compliance with FDA, FACT, AABB, and all other applicable regulations.
The starting salary for this position is negotiable up to $120,000.
