Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Senior Associate Director for Operations and Technology will play a critical senior-level leadership role within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. S/he will be a key member in the senior leadership team comprising the Dean of Admissions, Director of Admissions, Senior Associate Director for Marketing and Recruitment, and five Associate Directors. The Senior Associate Director for Operations and Technology is responsible for supervising two Associate Directors and will oversee personnel and daily operations in admissions including but not limited to application processing admission of special populations technology needs, initiatives, and integrations and budget management. This position will lead the Columbia Undergraduate Admissions team and implementation initiatives related to OneCarolina. This position bears responsibility for high-level strategic planning as well as oversight for technology integrations that support Undergraduate Admissions' recruitment and enrollment goals. S/he will work closely with campus partners, academic departments, and external constituents to meet the short- and long-term goals of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Senior Associate Director will manage and participate in the strategic planning and implementation of operations functions, related technology, and office goals. S/he will also represent the Office by serving on University committees and taking an active role in professional organizations. S/he may act in the absence of the Director.
Master's degree in Student Personnel Services or related field and 8 years experience in student services program area.
Minimum eight years experience in undergraduate admissions and/or enrollment management. Minimum five years of supervisory experience in university setting is preferred. Relevant experience in admissions of a large, public university is preferred. Knowledge of USC's human resource and finance policies and procedures is preferred. Experience using student information systems, in particular Ellucian Banner student information system, is preferred. Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, in particular EMAS Recruitment Pro and Slate document imaging systems, in particular Banner Document Management System College Board EPS and ACT EIS is preferred. Five or more years experience in undergraduate admissions is strongly desired. Understanding of current issues and trends in Admissions and Enrollment Management is preferred. In-depth understanding of higher education organization, policies, processes, and systems supporting student-centered operations is highly desirable.
