The University Information Technology Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Assistant Director III to join our team. The primary purpose of this position is to manage and deliver information technology planning, budgeting, policy management, and compliance services, and related functions. This position also providesresearch support for the Sr. Director. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Development and monitoring of: complex IT operating plans, IT capital resource budgets, IT annual operating budgets, and state financial and IT reports. * Reviews and monitors vendor and interagency contracts; reviews purchases, travel, inventory, and other account holder authorizations; and assists in the development of UNT IT policies. * Responsible for compliance functions including reporting to external agencies and coordinating responses to information requests. * Coordinates the development and monitoring of operating and capital budgets. * Monitors expenses and maintains comparison reports to control spending within approved budgets. * Reviews payroll and purchase orders, purchasing card transactions, travel and other account holder authorizations. * Performs budget analytics to support decision making around UIT services and strategies. * Coordinates IT policy, standards, and procedures, development within system IT regulations.* Documents policies, standards, and procedures. * Acts as UNT and UIT representative for university IT policy issues. * Coordinates and responds to internal and external information technology inquiries and reports. * Performs internal reviews of departmental compliance issues.* Coordinates the preparation of and response to requests for audits. * Acts as UIT representative and Compliance Officer for university compliance issues. * Collaborates with ITSS security on local UNT IT security issues as required. * Establishes and maintains good working relations with UIT directors, ITSS, and other UIT staff. * Maintains good working relationships with campus departments and other agencies. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in related field and five years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
