The Budget Office Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Financial Analyst II to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Develop and analyze monthly department and/ or University budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls.* Assist with the development of budgeting and reporting software used by Budget & Planning as well as assist in preparation of yearly University budget. * Serve as a functional lead and subject matter expert for financial data systems and data warehouse including troubleshooting, testing, and training.* Assist in the development of reports and presentations for communicating budget and other financial information to various audiences.* Provide in-depth advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, funding, fiscal allocations, and budget preparation for Budget Office, campus departments, and the University.* Serve as Budget Office liaison to campus departments for financial and budgetary training and analytical needs.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field and five years of professional experience in accounting, finance or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Working knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, legal statutes, and analysis and reporting of financial data.* Working knowledge of financial accounting within the relevant environment.* Ability to analyze numerical detail, identify patterns or trends, and draw valid conclusions.* Ability to analyze, consolidate, and present financial data in clear concise forms to a variety of audiences.
