Position Status

Position Summary
Facilities Services. The Business Manager assists the Director of Business Operations in managing all financial aspects for the Division of Facilities Services, including oversight of purchasing, budget reconciling and forecasting, and billing for services provided.

Essential Functions

  • Tracks budgeted funding and movement of budgeted positions within the division.
  • Guides department employees in making purchases in compliance with State and University policy.
  • Develops financial reports and analyses to support departmental projects.
  • Participates in financial and information systems developmental processes/projects.
  • Coordinates and oversees annual activities such as the division's inventory and contract renewal process.
  • Assists in audits and coordinates organizational financial readiness for implementing changes in staffing, programs, and operations.
  • Leads direct reports and department managers in managing budgets and making budget projections.
  • Directs, supervises, and administers work to direct reports.

    Minimum Education Required
    Bachelor's degree

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases and successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

    Preferred Education
    Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

    Preferred Experience
    Working knowledge of University budgeting and purchasing practices. Five or more years of related experience in an accounting field. Experience coaching and developing employees informally and formally.

    Salary Range
    Up to a budgeted maximum of $55,000.00
