Unit Job Summary: This position will oversee a portfolio of employers in the general business, Fortune 500, entrepreneurship, and startup fields, manage existing and develop new employer partnerships in the assigned employer industries and communicating with students as needed. The Assistant Director will provide excellent customer service to employers, support their recruiting strategies, and contribute to the growth of internship and full-time opportunities. The Assistant Director will work with Alumni Relations and Development (ARD) to facilitate parent and alumni engagement. Employer Relations (40%): The employer portfolio includes but is not limited to the startups, entrepreneurship, general business and corporate industries. Administer in-house recruiting programs and outreach for employers. Manage funding allocations and track placements in Salesforce. Educate employers about the University and support them in the use of Career Advancement recruiting services. Enforce recruiting guidelines. Educate staff on industry and recruiting trends. Contribute to aggressive growth strategy set by the Executive Director of the office. Employer Development (25%): Collaborate with "UChicago Careers In" Program Directors to build new opportunities for undergraduates interested in the assigned industries. Collaborate with ARD to support the larger efforts of parent and alumni engagement through career services programs. Develop and implement strategic employer development plan and recruit organizations to participate in Career Advancement initiatives. Create incremental opportunities for first-year Odyssey Scholars based on student industry, job function, and geographic location demand. Enlist organizations' support through workshop participation and sponsorships. On-Campus Recruiting Support and Programming (15%): The ERD team works with organizations across industries to increase access to support student outcomes through internships and full-time positions. Plan and execute our annual career fairs, including employer outreach, logistics management, and staffing. The Assistant Director will facilitate company engagements and assist employers in developing a successful recruitment strategy. This includes: posting jobs, coordinating interviews, promoting opportunities to students and campus partners, and planning events. Collaborate with career advisers to create targeted programming for undergraduate students' successful job/internship searches. Database Management and Reporting (10%): Manage the use of Handshake and Salesforce. Monitor job postings and interview schedules. Responsible for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on employer relations efforts, including tracking placement data, employer and stakeholder engagement. Student Advising (5%): Provide one-on-one advising to help students attain employment; use industry and company knowledge to provide targeted advice and support. Promote companies and opportunities to students. Assist with general undergraduate student advising demands as needed. Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

Unit Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Unit Experience: A minimum of three-five years of professional experience is required. Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously required. Excellent organizational and time management skills required. Ability to work with students, faculty, and staff in a wide array of situations required. Ability to work with a range of employers required. An interest in career services and employer relations preferred. A cover letter, resume, and three references are required to be considered for this position.

Ability to communicate to large groups as well as one-on-one with students, senior management, faculty, alumni, etc. required. Significant knowledge of online resources, spreadsheet and presentation software required. Ability to work independently and carry out assignments and projects without detailed instructions required. Demonstrated ability to master programs and learn new technologies required. Willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekends required. Familiarity with liberal arts students and areas of study strongly preferred. Experience with writing proposals, strategic plans/memos, and/or corporate sponsorships is preferred.
