About The Unit: POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Recruitment & Global Outreach, the Associate Director is responsible for cultivating a pool of prospective students for Chicago Harris degree programs through effective use of outreach techniques. Outreach includes phone calls, email, social media, and in-person meetings. The overarching goal of this position is to increase the number of interactions with prospective students and convert qualified prospective students into applicants. The role will be instrumental in maximizing the volume of inquiries and opening new relationships with recruitment-based organizations. This position will leverage her/his experience constructing and leading a team to build a prospective student database to attract high quality students to the Harris School. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee outbound prospect development and lead the development and execution of recruitment strategies (pre-enrollment strategies) - Develop strategy and execute specialized events for targeted recruiting (Marketing, Entrepreneurship, etc.) - Design and develop outbound digital, phone, and in-person recruitment strategies and long-term enrollment goals for Chicago Harris degree and executive education programs - Develop relationships with and advise prospective students via phone, email and in-person meetings - Continually improve processes associated with these activities to enhance prospective student satisfaction - Assist in overseeing the recruitment process (pre-enrollment process) to attract potential applicants - Develop strategies to increase awareness of Harris degree and executive education programs with private, public and non-profit organizations for fully or partially funded students - Develop and lead an extensive number of recruitment events to increase awareness of degree and non-degree programs that generate applications to meet recruitment targets - Oversee and assist with competitive analysis of peer institutions and the effectiveness of recruitment strategies

Unit Job Summary: Manage and lead outreach activities resulting from interest to commitment - Develop relationships with and advise prospective students via phone, email and in-person meetings - Continually improve processes associated with these activities to enhance prospective student satisfaction - Present at information sessions and other events - Collaborate with the digital marketing partners; execute and curate social media outreach - Recruit qualified prospects into the applicant pool through Harris hosted events including, but not limited to, information sessions, lunch and learns and receptions across the country - Facilitate personal connections between students, alumni and prospective students - Track outreach and interactions in Slate, our prospect management system - Develop student acquisition for new degree programs Facilitate personal connections between students, alumni and prospective students - Create partnerships with organizations to increase scholarships and financial aid - Collaborate with other teams at Harris to communicate goals and objectives of degree and executive education programs to increase revenue target - Review applications and interview candidates as needed. Formulate recommendations on suitability of applicants. Guide and manage the day-to-day administrative processes of the Recruitment team, collaborating with the Recruitment Coordinator as needed - Oversee and manage budget for the recruitment team - Establish and maintain relationships with all Harris School organizations and individuals involved in the marketing and prospect outreach - Collaborate with other Harris department colleagues to explore and execute programming synergies - Participate in the Admissions Committee assisting in the final selection of admitted Masters students and in financial aid and scholarship award allocation decisions

Unit Education: EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in public policy, social science or related discipline required. Master's Degree strongly preferred.

Unit Experience: EXPERIENCE - Minimum of 3 years of managing recruitments and working with prospective students - Strong familiarity with Slate (Technosolutions) and its current assets and strategies preferred - Salesforce experience preferred - Proven track-record of creating high-volume application and lead generation growth at large scale institutions preferably in university recruitment or sales required - Familiarity with higher education environment and knowledge of the University of Chicago's unique culture preferred
