JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is for an Electronic Systems Security Design Engineer supporting a wide variety of security system technologies. This position is responsible for the design and implementation of systems into new or existing security infrastructure, including Physical and Logical Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Networking Monitoring, Network Intrusion Systems, CCTV, and Perimeter Protections. This position involves all aspect of security design and requires individuals who are willing to validate designed solutions in a hands-on environment where our engineers build and test the systems they design in a lab environment. This involves the following:

Design of security system architecture for CCTV, Access Control and Alarm Systems etc.

Design of LAN and WAN topologies for security systems including switches, routers, and firewalls

Integration of security systems with VMWare, Windows, and Unix operating systems

Perform various engineering and implementation tasks such as Site Surveys; system Verification and Validation testing and engineering escalation support for project and operational environments

Develop and maintain system naming conventions, engineering standards, system configuration, design and commissioning documentation

Participate in overall systems design.

Write technical specifications to design or redesign CCTV, Access Control and Alarm solutions.

Support in the design, development and modification of security projects.

Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs.

Confer with customers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements

Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.

Partner with sales teams to develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.

Diagnose problems with installed equipment.

Provide technical and nontechnical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.

Performs other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to successfully pass an extensive background check and obtain a security clearance.
Working knowledge and/or certification with electronic security manufacturers such as Lenel, AMAG, Software House, Hirsch, MDI, Bosch, Pelco, Genetec, Avigilon.
Working knowledge and/or certification with communications and network protocols and services including TCP/IP, RS232, RS485, network-based video distribution (Multicast L2/L3).
Working knowledge and/or certification with operating systems commonly used for ACS, IDS, and CCTV systems
Extensive familiarity with Physical Security designs, database structures, protocols and personnel.

This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy.

Must have strong verbal, mathematical reasoning and problem solving skills.
Self-motivated with a proven track record in CCTV, computer network, and knowledge of technology.

Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.

Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports.

Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive technical approaches.

Strong knowledge of core technical and solutions concepts.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to attain business objectives.
Advanced level PC skills to include MS Office and MS Project, Visio and CAD.
3-5+ years relevant experience in engineering and technical support
2 years of relevant experience in IP (network) CCTV product.
Experiences and familiarity in surveillance, IP camera, DVRs, electronics equipment and instrument related industry a plus

Four year bachelor's degree in engineering, or a technical background equivalent to a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Must be prepared for travel.
