Position Summary: The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and administering safety programs. This position will provide technical assistance to field operations to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, company and client environmental, safety and health regulations. The Safety Coordinator will conduct compliance assessments/audits.

Essential Functions:
•Implement and administer safety programs.
•Provide technical assistance to field operations to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, company, and client environmental, safety and health regulations.
•Conduct compliance assessments/audits of employee work behaviors, evaluations of equipment, structures, work in progress, and will work closely with the client's safety team to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
*Internal contacts include site management, project management, business line leads, and health and safety personnel.
*External contacts include clients at work location, subcontractors and regulatory agencies.
•Supervise the safety of the crews on the Fort Hood job(s).
•Hold weekly safety meetings.
•Help/Assist in training crews.
•Prepare/write accident reports for the customer.
•Attend customer meetings when required.

Position Requirements

Other Requirements:
•Must have 5 years of experience in substation, transmission and overhead line work.
Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent, plus technical experience.
•Able to organize own work to meet deadlines set by others.
•Understands relationships between work processes, the business and meeting client needs.
•A team player with excellent communication skills
•Ability to perform job duties without close supervision
•Must possess knowledge of federal and state regulations
•Must be willing to travel out of state and stay out of town four (4) nights a week.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
