This position is responsible for coordinating all administrative logistics within the masters' and credential programs in the Department of Educational Leadership, School of Education.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree.

Required Experience

  • Three to five years relevant experience in higher education or related field preferred.

Primary Duties/Essential Functions

The Program Coordinator for Educational Leadership (EDL) reports directly to the Program Director to serve credential and masters' programs in Educational Leadership. Specifically, s/he serves in the following capacities:

  • Confidential assistant to the Program Director. This includes:
  • Serving as receptionist for the program and the Program Director, including appropriately preparing correspondence, responding to email, and tracking and following all program-related issues.
  • Managing the schedule/calendar for the Program Director.
  • Assisting Program Director with troubleshooting and tracking student issues and concerns, including student petitions, exceptions, and registration/enrollment issues.
  • Assisting Program Director in scheduling courses at the Azusa and regional campuses and online.
  • Preparing reports and assisting with special projects as assigned by Program Director.

Liaison between student and program, providing updates to the Program Director. This includes:

  • Coordinating the student admission process into the program from inquiry through admission.
  • Communicating with students about program requirements and policies.
  • Monitoring the status of intern credential holders to ensure correct course enrollment and continuing mentor supervision.
  • Monitoring and reviewing Taskstream for student completion of program requirements at all transition points.
  • Confirming student completion of program requirements, providing this information to the program director, credential analysts, Graduate Registrar, and others at program completion or as requested.

Support full and adjunct faculty within the department. This includes:

  • Coordinating the interview and hiring process of fulltime and adjunct program faculty, in collaboration with the Administrative Manager, Dean's Office.
  • Coordinating with Program Director to ensure timely preparation of adjunct contracts and faculty payment forms as necessary.
  • Monitoring course enrollment and coordinating course schedule changes with program director and department personnel.
  • Evaluating textbook needs and coordinating with bookstore on requisitions.
  • Coordinating with ITT on course needs within online Sakai platform.
  • Processing facility and room requests as needed.
  • Coordinating the beginning and end of term processes to ensure smooth transitions.

Support all functions of the EDL masters and credential programs. This includes:

  • Creating and maintaining program files.
  • Coordinating and assisting with program workshops, meetings, trainings, and events.
  • Attending events, meetings, training, and development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Serving as member of the SoE support team, helping as needed for School-wide events, such as KickOff, New Student Orientations, Graduation Receptions, etc.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
