Position Summary: The College of Nursing & Health Professions is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual to assume the responsibilities of Program Director of a developing Master's Degree program in Athletic Training (MSAT).


  • Teaching and advising primarily in the athletic training curriculum.
  • Mentoring masters student research in area(s) of expertise.
  • Additional scholarly activities and service expectations typical of tenure-track university faculty and consistent with rank are required.
  • Participation in teaching, professional service, student advising and scholarly activity is expected.
  • Leadership for academic and administrative affairs of the Department including transition to entry level masters in athletic training starting summer 2018.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Record of a clear scholarly focus, with the potential to attract external funding.
Evidence of quality teaching and the ability to effectively mentor graduate students.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in a field related to athletic training, curriculum and instructions.

Must be BOC certified and eligible for AR state licensure Minimum of 8 years of documented experience in the field of athletic training. Experience must include Clinical practice as an athletic trainer and administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting.

Scholarship and at least three years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post-secondary level.

Prior experience in the direction or clinical coordination of a CAATE accredited program is highly desirable.
