The Department of Global Health at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University is seeking a full-time tenured or tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with research, teaching, and practice expertise in the provision of health services to emergency-affected populations. Academic rank and salary are competitive and will be commensurate with experience.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will play an active and major role in developing a Public Health in Emergencies Program that will include expanding the related curricula in the MPH and DrPH programs, in developing an externally-funded research program in areas relevant to the provision of assistance to marginalized and extremely vulnerable populations, and in being a source of high-quality technical assistance to all of the categories of organizations mentioned in the preceding paragraph.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have either a medical or advanced nursing degree or a doctoral degree in a field related to the provision of humanitarian assistance, including the control of infectious diseases, nutrition, maternal and child health, water/sanitation, medical anthropology/sociology, and health economics. A demonstrated commitment to educating and working with the next generation of leaders in this field is required.
