The Kempe Center for Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect is seeking to fill a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) CWTS Instructional Designer (Communication Senior Professional) position.

The State of Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS), contracts with the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect, to serve as the Central Management Organization (CMO) for Colorado's Child Welfare Training System (CWTS).
The mission of the CWTS is to provide competency-based learning opportunities for Colorado's children, youth, and family serving personnel - by designing, developing, and delivering educational opportunities, through a regionalized structure. Duties will include: Instructional design, adult education, educational program needs assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation and delivering educational opportunities, through a regionalized structure.
- Exercises discretion and manages the design and development of innovative, dynamic, engaging, culturally inclusive online and classroom trainings.
- Applies advanced analytical skills in order to design and develop web-based training libraries and course shells to streamline ongoing design and development projects and track needs and resources.
- Innovatively develops graphic marketing materials for specific learning and communication products and projects.
- Manages the creation of engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances transfer of learning and learning retention, autonomously and with great accountability.
- Directs, with discretion, subject matter experts to identify the learning needs of target audiences.
- Articulates instructional end goals and design content and methods that exceed expectations.
- Visualizes, innovates and explains instructional graphics, user interfaces and the finished products.
- Autonomously manages instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Systems or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2 years' experience designing adult education materials for the classroom and online instruction.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be willing and able to successfully pass a 10 panel drug test.
- Must be willing and able to successfully pass a national criminal background check.
- A Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Systems or other similar field from an accredited institution with 2-4 years of specific experience in designing adult education materials for in-person and online instruction.
- Experience creating content that can be applied in the field of child welfare; in collaboration with subject matter experts, stakeholders and team members.
- Experience creating effective evaluation methods and tools that foster learner development by providing opportunities to demonstrate their mastery of the learning goals.
