Job Description
The University of South Carolina are accepting applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow with interest in increasing representation of underrepresented groups in the STEM fields and strong quantitative expertise. The initial appointment will be for two years, with the possibility of a renewal depending on available funding. The position involves contributing to a multi-site collaborative longitudinal study of youth educator programs in informal science learning sites (museums, zoos, aquariums) funded by the National Science Foundation and the Wellcome Trust. The person hired into this position will be co-mentored by faculty in the College of Education and the School of Medicine at the University of South Carolina, but will also work closely with a postdoctoral fellow at the collaborating site at Goldsmiths, University of London.

The postdoctoral fellow will receive mentorship and training in conducting large-scale, multi-site, longitudinal research with a diverse sample of underrepresented children and adolescents, and will develop their analytic, research, and writing skills.


Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology, Education, Human Development, or a closely related discipline by time of appointment; advanced quantitative training and expertise; data collection and management experience; strong academic writing and presentation skills


Preferred Qualifications
Experience with: primary data collection with children, families and adolescents; coordinating data collection across multiple sites; mentoring and training students; diverse methodology -- including survey methods; experience sampling and coding video interactions
