Director of Field Experiences, Certification, and Outreach
The School of Education and Teacher Preparation is seeking applicants for a full-time, ten-month, non-tenure track faculty position as Director of Field Experiences, Certification, and Outreach beginning August 2017. Review of applications will begin immediately.
Responsibilities for this 10-month, non-tenure-track faculty position include (1) all work associated with field experiences and teacher candidate placements including partner school development, and teacher induction and training; (2) all work associated with certification including completion of certification paperwork, attending GaPSC certification conferences, and answering general questions from the community and professionals concerning certification; (3) data management for continuous improvement of programs and the unit; and (4) outreach for the School of Education and Teacher Preparation. In addition, this position may require supervision of practicum or internship teacher candidates and periodic teaching of introductory education courses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
Qualifications include a Master's degree or higher in early childhood education, middle grades education, or special education. Well-qualified applicants should demonstrate the skills to design and manage data for continuous improvement of programs and the unit for accreditation purposes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
Doctorate preferred. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate expertise in working cooperatively with others, but especially in public school settings, have supervisory experience, exhibit a commitment to student learning and teacher success, possess technology skills that support data collection and management, and have a working knowledge of standards based instruction and assessment.
