Primary Function of Organization Unit: The NC State Veterinary Hospital established in 1983, is one of the highest rated regional academic medical centers in the country, serving communities throughout North Carolina as well as many other states. The mission of the hospital is three-fold: Compassionate, state of the art specialty health care Expert clinical instruction for 4th year veterinary students from the College of Veterinary Medicine Ongoing investigation of innovative techniques and procedures to further advance the field of veterinary medicine With over seventeen clinical services staffed by board certified specialists, many of whom are not only nationally but also internationally renowned, the hospital is on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine. Patients benefit from the combined expertise of multiple specialists utilizing a team approach to patient health care. Each year, nearly 22,000 patients are treated in the VHC. The NC State Veterinary Hospital provides tertiary care for a wide variety of animal species and serves as an environment for training veterinary students, specialty training for interns and residents, and conducts clinical research.
Essential Job Duties: The Client Services Representative provides customer service to NC State Veterinary hospital clients and acts as a first contact for all potential and current clients. Ensures excellent customer service to current and potential clients as well as referring veterinarians at the Cardiology Pavilion. Checks in clients, answers phone calls, makes appointments and processes deposits and payments. Works closely with internal and external clients as well as referring veterinarians to answer any questions or concerns. Takes detailed consult and referral information from referring veterinarians. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple incoming phone lines is crucial to this position.
Department Required Skills: Knowledge of MS Office products, email, fax and copy machines. Previous client service experience in a veterinary or medical setting required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Client services experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
