Duties: The Director of Compliance and Training will join a large team of Financial Aid Professionals servicing both undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Pennsylvania. The Student Financial Aid Office provides support to student-centered initiatives, and leadership, counseling and/or guidance to students, families, and the University community.

This position will spearhead the development of appropriate corrective actions to manage and mitigate risk and improve compliance practices. Have administrative oversight of the daily operation and management of financial aid practices to assure compliance. Establishes standards and implements procedures to monitor, detect, and prevent noncompliance with applicable rules and regulations. Assures all systems that support the administration of federal and state programs remains compliant.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Seven plus years of experience preferred.

5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in Higher Education. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs, including trends in the field of financial aid, and experience with Department of Education and Health and Human Services audit requirements.

Considerable experience working with specific financial aid programs and a good working knowledge of FERPA rules and regulations and ability to ensure compliance. Working knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting student financial aid preferred. Demonstrated expertise in identifying and analyzing complex compliance issues. Ability to assess risks and provide prudent advice.

Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced and ever changing environment. Multilingual a plus.
