General Summary: The University of North Georgia is seeking applications for a chemistry position on the Dahlonega Campus at the rank of lecturer, to begin August 2017. Special consideration with be given to those who have expertise in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Materials Chemistry/Science. Applicants will be expected to have the expertise necessary to teach Survey of Chemistry I & II, Principles of Chemistry I & II, and the associated laboratories.
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is a medium, well-equipped, ACS-approved department with its majors pursuing graduate school, professional school, teaching positions, and industrial positions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- The Lecturer will be responsible for teaching Survey of Chemistry I & II, Principles of Chemistry I & II, and the associated laboratories.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
- Applicants are required to have an MS or PhD in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Chemistry/Science, or a related field.
- The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and be responsible for teaching introductory and/or general chemistry both for majors and non-majors, and possibly other upper-level courses related to their field. Excellence in teaching, and university/community service are requirements for promotion. Advising students, service to the university and community, active participation in departmental activities, maintaining a collegial work environment, and professional development are expected.
