Position Summary: The Clinical Mental Health Counselor provides overall clinical and outreach/educational services that best meet the need of the Governors State University diverse student population. Responsibilities include intake, assessment, time-limited individual counseling, outreach, consultation and crisis intervention in the areas of mental health and wellness. This individual will serve as staff of the Student Health and Counseling Center and the Student Concerns Team. The Clinical Mental Health Counselor provides clinical consultation to the university faculty and staff, ensures compliance with accepted clinical standards and regulatory requirements, and serves as the point person for parents of students with mental health questions.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's prepared Clinical Mental Health Professional. The individual will have three or more years of progressively responsible clinical and administrative experience in a mental health setting/environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree in counseling or clinical psychology; licensed mental health clinician in the State of Illinois; Three to five years of clinical and administrative experience in a university and/or college counseling center.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, flexible hours that total 37 1/2 hrs. per week, possibly one evening a week.
