Degree and Area of Specialization:

Minimum of M.S. in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, or History of Science required.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Ongoing studies in Astronomy and Astrophysics and previous teaching experience at college/university level preferred.



Position Summary:

Teach Astronomy 206/History of Science 206, 'History of Astronomy and Cosmology'

Duties include preparing, administering, and grading course materials, exams and homework, and holding office hours. Material is to be presented from an astronomical perspective and in the context of modern scientific methods. There will be one lecture holding approximately 30 students. The class meets three times per week for 50 minutes.

There is a possibility this position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more of the course(s) listed on this PVL, or similar courses within the department. This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment.
