The Department of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Rehabilitation Counseling (EDSRC) and the Department of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky invite applications for a tenure track, assistant or associate professor position in Special Education and Science Education. The appointment is a nine-month appointment, effective August 16, 2017. This regular title series faculty member will provide expertise in support of learning and behavior disorders across elementary, middle, and secondary school levels and in science education at the elementary and middle levels.

Responsibilities of the position include the following: Teach two courses each semester - one in EDSRC and one in STEM; advise current and incoming students; engage with P12 and university faculty in program planning, implementation, and evaluation; ensure innovative programs comply with CAEP and state standards; serve on masters and doctoral committees; and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.

Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in special education and exceptional expertise as appropriate to science education, experience as a P12 educator, a commitment to innovative inclusive science education, effective collaboration with P12 partners in science education, and evidence of positively impacting student growth and achievement and demonstration of effective instructional practices in schools within the past three years.
