Susquehanna University Swim Instructors will provide competent, safe swimming instructions/lessons to children, ages 3-12.
Summer Program Dates and Times
June 12 through July 7 (4 weeks), every weekday (Monday through Friday) from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Exceptional swimming skills and understanding of the fundamentals of every single swimming stroke (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly). Thorough knowledge of swimming and water safety skills. Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, parents and young children. Ability to creatively teach children new skills. Be able to teach a variety of ages.
High School graduate or current High School student over the age of 16.
Prior Swim Instructor experience is preferred but not required.
Requires bending, pushing/pulling, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to twenty (20) pounds, and climbing. Must possess physical stamina to respond effectively to emergency situations and work in a noisy, sometimes hot, distracting environment. Working conditions are indoor. Must be able to supervise multiple kids at a time.
Prior experience teaching swim lessons is preferred.
